Kathy Tallentire

Kathy is proud to come from Stoke-on-Trent. She loves to take part in the many and varied cultural opportunities afforded by this creative city.
Her first book, Nana Duck, captures the essence of the city and children are inspired by seeing where they live in a picture book. Following the success of Nana Duck, Kathy has published another three stories and hopes to publish many more.
The Super Stokies project is a result of Kathy’s enjoyment of engaging with local school children and a long-held love of history which was her favourite subject at school. She went on to study history at Durham University before coming home to train as an accountant. She later completed an MBA at Staffordshire University and currently works as a part-time finance director for a local business alongside her work as an author and school speaker.
You can find out more about her books, or contact her to book a school visit on her website.

Her gift business specialises in personalised portraits and cards with a regional theme. She has a particular passion for children’s book illustration and was delighted that the last book she worked on won two awards in 2017; Mummii Family Award for Best Children’s book 2017 and Junior Design Magazine’s Junior Design Award 2017.
